Day of Setup Saturday, May 18th at The Nile - Our auction set up time is 9am-2pm, setup volunteers are welcome anytime in this window.
Event Volunteers - We have 3 roles available for the event itself on Saturday, May 18th 5pm-9pm. You can be a greeter or one of our 2 spotters. Each of these three roles receive dinner and two drink tickets as a thank you from the PTA. Sign up here!
Other Event Volunteers - These are for those who have purchased tickets, are not attending the auction, or would like to help behind-the-scenes. You will receive light meal fare and snacks with our thanks from the PTA. Sign up for multiple slots! Your time is welcome and appreciated!
High School Student volunteers are welcome for certain roles, the auction team can sign off on volunteer hour paperwork.

The Vice President is a member of the PTA’s Board of Directors’ Executive Committee and works side by side with the President.
This role will support the president to manage Board of Directors, preside over meetings, prepare agendas, support public relations, coordinate with Principal and school, manage the budget with the Treasurer and President, approve all school communications (e.g., flyers, website, emails).
Other responsibilities include: Attend PTA activities and events and inform Board of Directors and General Membership of decisions.

Standing Committee Member.
Two-year commitment. Working with a system provided by the WSPTA, prepares a school year membership module for renewal of memberships.
Coordinates staff and family hardship subsidy, organizes consent forms data and submit for payment to utilize the allocated budget.
Manages membership dues on the website platform. Attends PTA activities to promote membership and volunteer activities, preparing flyers and communication as needed.
Writes articles for the newsletter, prepares applications for State PTA membership awards, if applicable.
Attend Board of Directors meetings.
Advocacy / Legislative Chair
Did you want to be a part of the PTA’s mission of advocating for the well-being and education of all children? Join the PTA Board as Advocacy Chair.
This role is a member of the PTA’s Board of Directors’ Executive Committee and works with the Shoreline Council and WA State PTA to engage in strategic advocacy on behalf of LFP families and community as it relates to education, funding, and child welfare.
The role works with PTA membership to establish policy priorities and attends council legislative meetings, reports at monthly Board meetings, writes articles for newsletter, and attends both Legislative Assembly and Focus Day.

Communications Committee -
Dolphin Blast
The Communications Committee is looking for a Dolphin Blast coordinator. You would join a team of amazing PTA volunteers who coordinate all the PTA communications. Working with the other members of the committee as well as Co-Presidents, this position fills a key role in coordinating the PTA’s newsletter which serves as a resource for the LFP elementary community about the important events and updates from the PTA, school, and broader Shoreline community.
The Dolphin Blast goes out 2-4 times per month (based on the availability of the volunteer), with special Blasts needing to go out when needed, with each email involving 1-2 hours of volunteer time. Be a part of the fun in providing important information for our community!
Nominating Committee
Are you passionate about making a difference in your school community? The Nominating Committee plays a critical role in the success of our PTA by recognizing and recruiting the best-qualified individuals for elected PTA positions.
Here's your chance to get involved! The committee members are elected by our PTA members and will take on essential tasks, including confidential meetings, reviewing nominations, and searching for the most suitable candidates for leadership roles in our PTA.

family and community engagement chair
Family Engagement is a shared effort of families, schools, and community leaders to advance programs, practices, and policies that empower every parent/legal guardian to make their child’s potential a reality.
Position Responsibilities:
Conduct an assessment of the demographics of our school (race, culture, ability level, etc.) and examine previous representation of these groups in the PTA.
After identifying under-represented groups, review previous PTA activities and messaging to analyze opportunities where inclusion can be improved.
Create opportunities to listen to families (surveys, focus groups, listening sessions) to learn specific ways they would like to be more engaged with their child’s learning.
Work in collaboration with the FACE Chair (and other board or committee members as appropriate) to design new initiatives that will help our PTA connect with unreached families. Use feedback from all groups to develop a realistic plan for improving engagement of unreached families.
Work with PTA board and committee leaders to infuse family engagement practices into existing activities.
Serve as a representative of the LFP PTA to the Shoreline PTA Council’s DEI/FACE Committee and share information with our PTA.
Perform additional duties as defined.
Fundraising Committee
The fundraising committee has three open roles, read below to learn more:
Winterfest Chair: Fall through Early December. In coordination with the Fundraising Chair, plan and coordinate the annual school winter market held at the school, including: soliciting vendors, making and distributing flyers, promoting within the community, and overseeing all aspects of the event including volunteers.
Camp Orkila: Each year a team of 4th grade parent volunteers join forces to raise funds for their grade’s 5th grade camp. Beginning in 2024, the PTA will run the fundraising as part of their overall fundraising activities.
dolphin for a day
You can sign up for a half day (just on Tuesdays or Thursdays) or a full day. On your Dolphin day, you will spend some time helping in your child's class, but you'll also go to other classrooms. You'll likely help out in the library and at recess (dress for the weather). And you can plan on having lunch with your child.

hip FOOD BAG PICKUP/DROP OFF
Our school partners with Hunger Intervention Program (HIP) to provide some students with food bags for the weekend. The bags need to be picked up and the empty boxes returned. Sign up to help here!
