Specific needs:
Day of Setup Saturday, May 18th at The Nile
Our auction set up time is 9am-2pm, setup volunteers are welcome anytime in this window. Please consider donating an hour or two on Saturday morning or afternoon to help the auction team! Lend a hand to set up the silent auction tables, put table numbers on tables, assist with decor, and arrange class art donations. Please e-mail Leah at fundraising@lfppta.org to volunteer and provide a window for the time you are able to give.
Event Volunteers
We have 3 roles available for the event itself on Saturday, May 18th 5pm-9pm. You can be a greeter or one of our 2 spotters. Each of these three roles receive dinner and two drink tickets as a thank you from the PTA. Sign up here! We expect these roles to fill up fast!
Other Event Volunteers
These are for guests who have purchased tickets and are willing to volunteer a portion of the evening, anyone looking to donate their time to support the auction rather than purchase tickets, or for someone looking to keep it casual and work behind the scenes. Volunteers who prefer to not attend the auction or purchase a ticket, will receive light meal fare and snacks with our thanks from the PTA. Sign up for multiple slots! Your time is welcome and appreciated!
Are you a professional who could donate a service and gain exposure at the same time? Do you have a vacation property to donate a weekend getaway? Have air miles to donate? Did you accidentally buy two of something and forget to return the extra? Receive a great gift or gift card but haven't used it?
Or do you frequent certain businesses or run an organization? Do you work for a generous employer? Please ask them to consider donating goods or services to fundraising@lfppta.org or donate here!
Donate to fill gift baskets for the Silent Auction
Each year we host several baskets to be bid on during the Silent Auction. If you can't attend the auction or just want to contribute in a small but mighty way, please consider shopping our Wish Lists.
Each basket has a theme: Tween Basket | Relaxing | Summer Essentials
Donate to the Wine Pull
What is a Wine Pull, you ask? For a set price, "pull" a bottle (or two!) of wine from our fabulous collection curated by our Wine Pull team. We will be selecting several Red, White and Rosé options but in order to do that, we need your help!
We have learned over the past couple of years that the weather around the time of the Auction plays a significant role in the type of wine that is desired by you fine folks. For instance, on a warmer day, we have sold out of our White and Rosé selections fast. Due to this (and one teensy problem: the fact that we cannot predict the weather so far in advance) we are asking for monetary donations to purchase some of these wines closer to the Auction date to successfully curate our collection for the evening.
To donate to the cause, you can Venmo Christie Vandyke at: @Christie-Vandyke-2 or email auctionwinepull@lfppta.org to make other arrangements or if you have questions. This is one of our most successful auction events and each year we exceed our expectations, so any help is greatly appreciated!
Last year this event raised almost $1000 for our school in about 30 minutes. With your help, we can beat that record this year!
Host a table at the auction!
Grab your squad! Get a group of other parents from your child’s classroom! Make friends at your bus stop! Invite them to join you at your hosted table! The opportunities for bonding as you dine and bid together on auction night are priceless.
Dessert Dash
What is the Dessert Dash? The LFP Auction includes a catered dinner, but it is tradition to invite local bakeries and hobby bakers to donate special occasion desserts. Desserts will be on display when doors open for guests to admire while they mingle and peruse auction items. During dinner, each table bids to be the first to choose a dessert from the spread. Once the bids are tallied, a representative from each table will race to pick out a delicious dessert to take back to share. It is quite a sight to behold, watching all the tables race for their sweet treats!! At the end of the evening, if we have more desserts than tables of guests, the extra desserts will be auctioned off in a live auction format.
Check out the available slots on our Signup Genius link and sign up to have a dessert donated by your favorite local bakery, trusty home baker, or bake the item yourself. Do you have a family recipe that always WOWs party guests? Have you watched Bake Squad, Cake War, and Is It Cake and can bake a masterpiece? Your dessert only needs to feed 8 people so now is the time to shine!
Volunteer
Is the social aspect of the auction out of your comfort level but you still want to meet people and attend? Volunteering is a great option! Maybe you don't drink but want to make the night amazing for guests and help raise money! Is the ticket price is a bit out of your range but you still want to attend? Volunteer for a time slot and you can have your cake and eat it, too (at the Dessert Dash!)!
The event can't happen without volunteers! Some volunteer roles are eligible to receive a gratis ticket for the event and other more behind the scene volunteer opportunities will receive many thanks and yummy catering options, stay tuned for day of volunteer information or email Leah at fundraising@lfppta.org if you'd like to know more right away. All About the Auction - FAQs
Some of the most things we hear about the Auction are:
"What is the Auction?"
The Auction is the PTA’s main fundraiser for the year. It’s a fun, kid-free event open to all parents and adults from our community! Browse and bid at the Silent Auction while enjoying a drink! Enjoy fun bids like the Gift Card wall, Golden Ticket, Heads & Tails, and more! The Live Auction kicks off when dinner is served. To bid or not to bid is up to you. The main goals are to have fun and raise funds for our kids and school!
"My budget is tight right now, I can't spend a lot."
To that we say, we understand! Please know that simply buying a ticket and attending is a huge help! You are not obligated to bid on anything. We do try to have a variety of items that are available at a set cost so that you can purchase and not be outbid. We also have resources to assist with ticket purchases. Email us and we will make arrangements.
"I am new or haven't met many people at LFP yet, will I get to meet people at the Auction?"
The auction is a great way to get to know the community. There are plenty of chances to make new friends in between the bidding. If you let us know, we can make sure you sit with some fantastic folks.
"Crowds aren't really my thing."
Maybe working the welcome desk is? Say hi to all the guests, hand them their welcome packs and send them on their way. Or volunteering the night of but in an administrative capacity? There is a lot of work that happens behind the scenes the night of the auction.
"I don't drink alcohol so this doesn't seem like an event for me."
Don't worry you are not alone in this. There are plenty of non-drinkers at the event! For those who may have a few beverages, they need their non-drinking friends to hold their paddles down sometimes.
Below are a list of more frequently asked questions we've compiled for anyone with additional questions:
How are the funds raised used?
The event proceeds provide most of the PTA’s operating budget for the following year. This allows us to continue providing all of our students with the chance to engage in PTA sponsored activities at low or no cost. What we raise at the Auction goes to provide teachers with support and resources throughout the school year.
How can I participate?
There are four main ways for anyone to help us with our auction:
Purchase a ticket and attend the event! Early bird pricing will be available, details coming soon.
Donate an item (or part of the cost of an item) to be auctioned off.
Help us connect with a local business to provide a sponsorship or catalog advertisement.
Volunteer prior to the event or at the event! We always love more volunteers. Many hands make light work!
Who will be at my table?
We do our best to honor seating requests. For those who don’t have a specific group they want to be with when purchasing a ticket, we do our best to make table groups based on grade levels. It can be a great way to meet to new friends! We can only guarantee seating requests made before a certain date or if you purchase a table, which guarantees you get to sit with your favorite 7 people!
What are the Amazon Wish Lists?
If you can't attend the Auction, or just want to contribute in more ways, we have cultivated Amazon Wishlists. The items purchased will be used to create gift baskets for the Silent Auction.
Each basket has a theme: Tween Basket | Relaxing | Summer Essentials
What should I wear?
Wear what makes you comfortable! Seriously!
Whether you want to enjoy your night out and dress head-to-toe in your fanciest outfit, or take advantage of the night out by being as casual as possible, there is ZERO judgment! Your good jeans and a nice shirt? Perfect! The dress you bought but haven't found the right occasion to wear it? This is the event! Khakis and a button down? You do you! This is Seattle after all!
The last thing we want you to worry about is your attire and if it meets a certain theme or standard. We want you to be able to attend the auction and have a great time!
