One Book, One SchooL

NEW BOOK COMING SPRING 2024

One Book, One School is an annual program sponsored by the LFP PTA in conjunction with LFP Elementary. Every student receives a copy of the book to keep and add to their personal book shelf. Students and their families are encouraged to read the daily chapters out-loud together. In the classroom, time is taken to discuss daily trivia questions and the chapters read. A special art project is also developed each year to connect the themes of the book a more personal level.

Lake Forest Park students, families, and staff will be reading the book “A Boy Called Bat” from 3/13 - 4/4.  This school-wide family engagement activity is made possible through the support of the Lake Forest Park PTA. All families will receive a copy of the book to read and keep in their home library.

What will happen at home?

We hope your family can spend 15 min each Monday - Thursday evening reading and discussing the book. If you have a busy night, there will be online videos featuring staff and PTA readers available to watch. Inside of each book, there will be a schedule for daily reading along with daily discussion questions.

What will happen at school?

Classrooms will discuss a daily story question based on the previous night’s reading.  Before ending the day, the class will note the pages they are to read at home that night.
