Artsonia is an online student art gallery. When LFP students complete artwork with a volunteer Art Docent, those projects are photographed and uploaded to Artsonia, where keepsakes can be purchased with an image of your child’s artwork. LFP receives a percentage of the profits from each purchase.
This event runs October through November. This hassle-free appeal is an alternative to traditional fundraising methods (wrapping paper sales, etc.), perfect for families who prefer to give a one-time donation. We rely on the generous donations of our LFP families to generate $5000 through this event each fall.
The annual LFP PTA auction is our biggest fundraiser of the year. It is a fun night out for parents, teachers and the community that includes dinner, drinks and silent & live auctions. Auction items range from big to small including priceless items such as Principal for the Day, Chief of Police for the Day and one-of-a-kind artwork created by LFP students.
LFP PTA partners with local restaurants who generously donate a portion of an evening’s pre-tax proceeds back to the school! Be on the look out in the Dolphin Blast for “Dine-out Nights” so you and your family can enjoy a meal out while giving back to LFP.
Amazon donates 0.5% of the price of your eligible AmazonSmile purchases to the LFP PTA. There is no additional cost to you! AmazonSmile is the same Amazon you know – same products, same prices, same service.
Receipts from Thriftway that are turned into the office are collected and turned into Thriftway for a 1% donation to the PTA on receipt subtotals.
To support arts education at LFP, the PTA sponsors the volunteer-run Art Docent program. Volunteers from the school teach art lessons about a particular artist and/or elements of art, and guide the students in creating a work of art in that style. Volunteers are not required to have had experience as an art teacher. Training and lesson plans are provided.
We are community leaders who work as a team with family advocates, family support centers, early childhood education programs and school staff to build relationships with families. We listen to ideas of how to help children be successful in school and bring families and schools together to plan and implement YOUR ideas. We specifically support English Language Learning families.
The Reflections Program is a National PTA and WSPTA cultural arts competition. Students use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works. Each year, Reflections challenges students to create art that supports a specific theme. The six art areas are: Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts, Film/Video and Choreography/Dance. Information about the competition will come home in the fall.
Students get the opportunity to open a savings account with WA Federal and make deposits weekly, right here at school. It only takes a minimum deposit of $5.00 and a completed application to establish your student’s savings account. This is an outstanding opportunity for your child to learn about banking and to establish a habit of making savings a part of their regular routine that will last a lifetime.
Each year, the PTA supports the production of a school play put on by fourth, fifth and sixth graders. Students try out to for parts in the play or as part of the backstage crew. Parent volunteers help with coordination, set design, backstage and a bake sale. The show must go on and thanks to the PTA, it does!
The PTA’s School Enrichment committee plans a menu of after-school classes each semester. Types of classes include: science, dance, drama, knitting, sports, various arts and much more! Classes are held three times a year. Registration information is sent out via kid mail and in the Dolphin blast prior to it opening.
The Student Science Fair is held each year in the spring, and all students are invited to participate by entering a science project using scientific method. Each student is invited to display their science board and explain their project/experiment at this event.

An LFP favorite, once a year the PTA has a school dance with a DJ who plays all the popular tunes. All LFP family members are invited to this fun, free event. If you so desire, glow sticks, lights and other fun stuff are available for purchase. It is usually held in the winter – watch the calendar for this year’s date.

When students leave behind coats on the playground, or containers in the lunchroom, they are put in the Lost and Found located in the foyer area at the main entrance to the lunchroom. If your child has lost something at school, please check there. Each quarter, the PTA Lost & Found Chair takes any remaining clothing items to The Works, the Shoreline PTA’s clothing room that provides assistance to families experiencing circumstances that make it difficult to purchase clothing.
The PTA coordinates a school supply ordering program with SchoolKidz, a national school supply kit company. In the spring, you can submit your order for the next year and save yourself the headache of having to hunt down the right supplies for your child. Supply kits arrive just before school starts and will be waiting for your child in their classroom.
The Staff Appreciation committee plans monthly luncheons and mailbox surprises to show how much we appreciate all of the LFP staff. All potluck items are donated by our wonderful LFP families! Also, one week during the school year is “Staff Appreciation Week” and each day has a special theme for staff, including the famous “gift card giveaway.”

Individuals sign up at a kick-off event held in the fall. WatchDOGs monitor the lunch room, assist the janitor, participate in recess and help in the classroom.

Our goal is to have one PTA member for every student in the school – it’s $14 for one person, or $25 for a couple to join. Members are invited to a free swim party each year. Your membership fees also support the Washington State PTA in their work to advocate to the state government for positive choices for schools. Encourage friends and family members to purchase a membership too. Help us reach our goal of 100% participation.
The PTA produces a student directory each year with student names organized by classroom and alphabetically. This is a great resource for helping LFP families connect with one another. Each family receives one complimentary copy of the directory; additional copies can be purchased for $5.
